Use a cover crop as described in this guide: https://growinginthegarden.com/take-the-summer-off-plant-heat-tolerant-cover-crops-instead/ or at a minimum cover with a thick layer of mulch and water at least 1-2 times a week.

What should I do if I will not be using it . Should I cover it, throw compost in it? I am just not sure what to do if I am going to leave it alone for the Summer. Thank you so much for any help. I am a super beginner.
