No this type is grown for the flowers and not edible. It also grows during cooler weather, similar to the peas grown for eating. It can be confusing because the names are the same. Yes! Use the varieties listed for hot summer areas and plant in October or November. You’ll love them!

I’m down here in Yuma. Is there a chance that I can really grow sweet peas?!
If so, when do I plant and should I plant seeds? Which variety?

Thx much,
