None of the killing soaps worked last year. The first year, I removed the plants, let the soil sit, wet for two weeks, and started over (inconvenient, but got past their June hatching). First year, I got a huge harvest. Second year, I didn’t start over, kept treating with the soaps, and got a very poor crop.
A farmer told me to liberally spread lime over the soil and work it into the top few inches, let it over winter, and then add more soil over it in the spring. We shall see if that works. Supposedly, the hatchlings cannot crawl up to the surface more than an inch or so. Farmers should know, right??

I love articles like this one. Recently I’ve seen this on my plants but I didn’t know what it was or if I should do anything about it. Now I know. Thank you!
